He was graduated from Art Department, Art College of Seoul University, Oriental Philosophy Department, and graduated from the graduate school of Dongguk University, then won the doctorate. Since he got the spotlight, won the Chairman’s Prize of National Reconstructing Convention, the greatest prize of ‘the 1st New Comer Art Prize’, in 1962, he showed many works in domestic and overseas group exhibitions of more than 400 times as well as a lot of private exhibitions. Presently, he is an honor professor, Oriental Painting Department, Art College of Seoul University and works for Korean Wall Painting Laboratory as a curator in chief.
